Maybe it comes from being the second-born son. Maybe it’s just how I am wired. But for as long as I can think back, I’ve always been a competitor. Soccer has been a part of my life for more than a decade, and I without a doubt desire to compete at the collegiate level. I recognize few high school athletes make this leap, but I am committed to working hard over the next few years to transition to the next stage of my athletic career.
There are many general comments I can share with you, but first and foremost I want coaches to know I LOVE the game. Every time I step on the field, I strive to get better. I ask for feedback and am a team player. On my club team, I was nominated by my peers to be a captain. As a freshman who made the varsity program, I recognized that sometimes I needed to be that player to adjust and jump in at various positions. Coaches have commended me for having great vision of the field, calling me “soccer smart,” and I equally place a huge value on fitness. I run on my own, compete on my high school track team and am known for my explosive speed and great 1v1 defending. Beyond the field, I am an honors student and welcome the opportunity to combine my love for soccer with the opportunity to obtain a top-notch education. I’m excited to learn more about where I can contribute at the next level and am eager to speak with college coaches so I can learn more about their respective programs and team culture.
