I'm a hard worker, always trying to surround myself with people who will push me to be my best at all times personally, academically, and athletically. I consider myself coachable and equally enjoy helping others reach their full potential. I've always been the bigger kid on teams due to my height, combine that with my maturity and my enjoyment of talking with adults, that I'm often seen as a leader to others. So I try to keep that in mind on and off the field. I picked up a small card the size of a business card several years ago at a youth leadership camp. It has a picture of Spider-Man with the quote "With great power comes great responsibility". Two wallets later, a couple of accidental spins through the washing machine, I still carry that faded old card and that's still a phrase I take seriously.
I'm a two-sport athlete in my high school and I love the different nature of each sport and how I feel when competing. I've played soccer since I was four and have played club competitive soccer since I was ten years old. I have always been a starter and played the last 5 years as a defender. I started running track in 10th grade and quickly made my mark through hard work and listening to my coach. Although I only ran one season (pre Covid-19), I believe it was a good start and am not letting the disruption to my 11th-grade season hold me back next year in either sport! My school will be online this fall for at least the first 5 weeks if not longer, but I have conditioned all summer with home workouts and running. I'm also working at a health club as a lifeguard this summer, so I am also using their gym while I have access to it.
I hope to attend a school that will challenge and allow me to explore my strengths and interests in and out of the classroom. I'd like to pursue a degree in business and possibly work in hospital administration/leadership. I have a soft spot for people, I love helping people!
