Personal Statement
I graduated from high school in 2019 and I still have a burning desire to play soccer. I am excited to find a new team to play soccer with. I’ve played soccer my entire life, and I’m don’t want to let COVID-19 stop me from playing.
I spent my first year after high school at New York Institute of Technology. There I studied Architecture, became an honor roll student on the Dean’s List, and I was a member of the soccer team. I learned a lot playing soccer last year and my individual skills improved even more. I officially red-shirted for my freshman season, but I was the #3 pick for goalkeeper out of six players; the two ahead of me were a fifth year senior and an international sophomore.
The spring season was going well for me, until the world was introduced to COVID-19. I spent the spring semester doing online classes from my parent’s home starting in March and I decided to defer my studies for the Fall 2020 semester. Now, I’m looking for a school that has either civil engineering or architecture to continue my studies. I would like to attend in the Spring or the Fall of 2021. My goals in college are to succeed academically and athletically. I am excited to continue my path as a college student athlete.
My work ethic is high and if I am given a task to complete, I will enthusiastically put my time and effort into accomplishing my goal. That goes for an academic project, or challenges coaches want me to work on. I love to learn, and I love playing soccer.
I have received an overwhelming amount of support in my pursuit of playing college soccer and hopefully beyond. I am incredibly grateful for it. My parents, grandfather, and several aunts and uncles all played college soccer, while studying academically what they wanted to become. For me, it’s the same thing. Education is first, and soccer is a close second.
I love working in a team, both leading and following. I can work well with a group, but I can also get the job done solo if needed. The bottom line is; I want to play! Soccer is the world’s game and I want a place to pursue the game while improving my future.
