I always had an interest in Psychology ever since I was young but grew into a fascination when I took my first Psychology class my junior year of high school. In that class, I did a research paper on how social bias is a common factor in real-world scenarios. This research project gave me a bit of freedom to research while still having a guide to rely on. I started to become fascinated with idea that I could research a topic of my choice involving the infinite amount of research ideas have fueled my passion for psychology and instilled in me a commitment to contribute meaningfully to the mental health and well-being of society. CU Boulder has let their students have freedom in researching a topic of your choice. Irene V. Blair is a professor who is researching how bias and discrimination operate in real-world settings. Which is a topic that could really interest me and would like to learn more about in the near future. I would like to study Psychology at CU Boulder, as the department of Psychology and Neuroscience is one of the best in the nation. CU boulder has a wide range of programs and opportunities that allow me to expand my interests and freedom in my choice of study. What makes me a good candidate for their team is my determination and goals. I used to dance a Peruvian dance called Marinera. There are tons of competitions around the United states. And to win, it requires hours of practice, responsibility and determination. All of these traits also transfer over into soccer.
