My name is Michael Calabrese and I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. I play left wing (I am a righty) and center attacking midfield. I am a very confident player with the ball and a very strong dribbler and love beating multiple defenders. I like to play the ball and aggressively push it up field and dictate the tempo of the game. I have a great first touch and very good at dribbling fast with close control. I am also a great finisher and am very calm with the ball. My style of play is very similar to Lionel Messi and Neymar because they are insane dribblers and exceptional playmakers.
My main strengths are dribbling, playmaking and creating goal scoring opportunities for my teammates. I have performed at the Hartford Athletic halftime show (showcasing my dribbling skills and freestyle skills) in front over of 12,000 fans. I currently have the second-best Enfield High School Pacer at 138 laps (my twin brother holds the record). I also have the third fastest 1.5 mile for EHS soccer at 8mins 30secs (my twin brother also holds this record). I have run a mile at 5mins 15sec.
I am a high honor student and train very hard at soccer. I am a hardworking and responsible person. I have a lot of neighbor’s lawn care accounts. I have volunteered with my dad at various soup kitchens. I have been a paid employee of FSS soccer camps. I have trained smaller kids on foot skills.
I am currently playing for Juventus Academy. I have played for NEFC. I am currently playing as a Sophomore for EHS varsity.
I hope to get an opportunity to play Division I soccer and showcase my talents to the world. My dream is to one day play in Europe for FC Barcelona.
