My name is Zachary Barown and I hope to have the opportunity to be an asset on the soccer field while earning my degree.
Don’t let my current size deter you. I have speed, excellent ball handling skills as well as the strength to handle myself against bigger players. I am also extremely coachable. While my speed is my greatest physical asset, I believe my endurance and leadership set me apart. I have been complimented by many coaches on my "tremendous work rate" on the field.
I am a 4 year varsity athlete, 2x captain, as well as earning a Berkshire League Scholar athlete award. I have also had the opportunity to experience international play when I was select as 1 of 17 players from 10 states to represent my club at the 2018 San Marino Cup in Italy. Scoring my first international goal was a moment I will not forget. I am also in the Rush Select Player pool and played as part of the Rush National Select Team at the PDT Tournament in 2019.
Most recently I was selected to 1st Team - All Berkshire League as well as selected to play in the Connecticut Senior Bowl.
I am a certified referee for youth soccer games and volunteer coach at my towns rec soccer program. Nothing makes me happier than to help young players become better.
I would like to attend a college where I can gain a valuable education that will position me for a future career as well as allow my skills to contribute on the soccer field. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I always try to perform better than expected and give my all to whatever is asked of me. Soccer is my passion and I hope to be able to continue to be involved with this sport well beyond college.
