Ever since I was young, I always wanted to be a soccer player. When I came home from the park one day, I knew that it was what I wanted in my life. As I continued to play it more and more, I realized just how much of a lifestyle it is to me. It soon became a passion and everything I did one way or the other had to deal with it. It is an amazing sport that can teach you both on and off the field, it is something that in the end, can help you become a better man in life. Soccer was what taught me the value of being on a team and being a leader. It showed me what responsibility came with the role of being a leader and just how important it was. I think I'm a good candidate because I don't base my actions on other people's decisions. You will never catch me following someone else because I will always be the one leading the team. I care for each one of my teammates and want what's best for the team. While I do believe that I have talent, I also recognize the value of hard work. I know that when talent fails, hard work will always have your back. That is why you will never catch me lacking when it comes to work, whether it is on or off the field. Although I love soccer, I still understand the importance of a good education. Devoting yourself to soccer is a risk, that is why having good grades is a must just in case things don't work out. I know the importance of a student-athlete, which is why I strive to get straight A's every quarter. I love soccer and I would sacrifice anything for it, I am a hard worker both on and off the field and I will constantly show that every day.
