My name is Jordan Menendez, I am 15 years old and I've been playing travel soccer since the age of 6 at Miami Lakes United Soccer Club located in the Town of Miami Lakes in South Florida. My passion is soccer/sports, being part of a team and spending time with my teammates and friends from school. Although, I am undecided as to what I want to study, I would like to have the opportunity to play soccer at the university level while I figure out what degree to pursuit. My ultimate dream would be to play professional soccer like many young players my age! I consider myself to be an excellent team player, dedicated, motivated and responsible as I am always on time to practice and have only missed few practices over the years. I have a good ability and disposition to follow directions from coaches to better understand and support the team during games.
Over the years while playing in Miami Lakes United Soccer Club (Non-for profit organization), I have learned that soccer is not just about the sport but being part of a community (team). I have had many opportunities to help out in different community events such us, hurricane relief, food drives, toy drives and volunteering time during the summer soccer camp and recreational program. MLUSC is a family, a second home to me and that is what I am looking for in a university, one that will offer a sense of community.
I am looking forward to attending a school that will challenge me academically, help me grow as a person and as a soccer player! I hope to be that player for you, one that will be persistent, consistent, dedicated, responsible, have perseverance and know how to follow directions but at the same time be able to make its own decisions. I hope to be the right fit for the university that chooses me!
