Lucas McKamey '21 Recruiting Profile

A growth mindset is my driving principle!   I was always the underdog on my older brother’s team.  I had to work twice as hard to keep up with my teammates who were 2 years older.   Learning how to walk through adversity has allowed me to soar academically and athletically. I work tirelessly to carry a 4.0 GPA in a rigorous academic program and maintain my starting position on a top tier high school soccer program.   

Playing soccer internationally was a highlight of my soccer experiences.  I was afforded the opportunity to play soccer against a group of my peers in Rome, Italy.   After several weeks of play, my team ended with an undefeated record and a championship trophy.   The international experience taught me that the pitch is an equalizer where nothing matters but teamwork, training, and tenacity.  It is a life lesson I will never forget.   

I am looking for a program that is an academic and athletic fit.   I believe I not only have the talent to compete at the collegiate level, but I have grit, character, leadership skills, and academic prowess to make a positive impact on your soccer program.
