I have been playing soccer my whole life, but my freshman year at Lemon Bay Highschool was when my love for soccer sparked. The thrill of the ride on the bus, the thrill of making a save against a top team, the thrill of having a 20+ save game, the thrill of having my teammates backs'. This love for soccer only increased during my Sophmore year when I was a part of a team that achieved what hadn't been done at Lemon Bay since 1992, reaching the district semi-finals. Even though that may not be a high feat to some teams, for Lemon Bay, it was a huge step in the program. Playing on a team that hasn't had the best reputation in the area has motivated me to continue to become a better goalkeeper so I can help the team reach and win the district finals, and, Lord willing, even farther. It has also urged me to minimize any simple mistakes that can be game-changing.
Throughout my two years in high school sports, I have learned to accept any mistakes I make, I have learned how to train myself on my own to get better, and I have learned to step up and take the mantle of being a loud leader to assist my teammates as much as possible. I have learned, while playing the tougher teams, to never be afraid of the opposition. I am looking for a program that has great athletic opportunities as well as academically. A rigorous program is not daunting to me, but rather it excites me, as I know that hard work leads to success.
