Since I first stepped onto the soccer pitch 10 years ago, I have aspired to play soccer at the collegiate level. As I have grown through the years, and excelled academically, I now also aspire to play collegiate soccer at an academically challenging educational institution.
On and off the pitch, I have always given 100% in everything I do. Academics are as important to me as playing soccer. I am competitive by nature and enjoy excelling on the field as well as in the classroom. My soccer coaches have always commented on my passion, ability, and commitment on the field whether during practice or game time. They have called me a “willing runner” and noted I put my full mind, body, and soul into playing. Similarly, my high school teachers have always recognized my aptitude for challenging myself and others via academic discourse.
Throughout my soccer career, I have played many positions, both offense and defense, but my speed, agility, and sheer competitive nature have best served me in the role of forward. I love playing forward because I can simultaneously enact my physical speed, watch the opponents’ body language for visual cues of play so I can combat it with strategic prowess, and ultimately score points for the team. I excel in this position because I have the precision, game vision, strategic mindset, and techniques necessary to be successful. I will charge any opponent (including the keeper) at full speed and perform any necessary tackle while maintaining a no-card record.
Throughout my high school career, I have earned all A’s in predominantly Honors and/or Advanced Placement (AP) courses. I currently hold a weighted GPA of 4.0. My high school pathway is Computer Science. I am very tech-savvy and have an innate curiosity for how things work which positions me as a solid computer science engineer candidate. This is my anticipated major at the college level.
I appreciate any Coach willing to give me a chance to show what I can do on the pitch. Whomever gives me a chance on the soccer field will quickly learn I will bring as much athletic skill to the table as I do mental strategy. I am adept at understanding which game plays are necessary in the moment, how to pivot strategies on a dime, and how critical field communication is to team success!
