Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Zackery Banuilos. I am currently a senior in high school and I would like to attend college and play collegiate soccer at the highest level possible. I fell in love with soccer during the recesses of 7th grade in Japan. We would play soccer on the basketball courts and this is where I knew that soccer was the sport that I really wanted to stick with. We moved to Hawaii later and I immediately wanted to join a team. It was my first official year playing soccer but I quickly learned and became top scorer of the season. Every morning and any free time that I had, I loved to watch soccer videos on youtube. I tried to imitate many play styles and I found my own style which gave me the titles of "the maestro" and "the most technical player" from my coaches and teammates. I learned to play every position on the field which has led to many opportunities and my coaches having many options. I moved on to more competitive levels and continued to grow as a player and person because I was fortunate enough to meet some great coaches. I know that I have less experience than most soccer players that I compete with but I am hungry to learn and improve every day. I look forward to pushing myself to become a better player and developing with my future team on and off the field.

Positions

Coaches like to have me in the middle as CAM or CDM and sometimes CB. I play well anywhere on the field.

-Leader on the field. Not hesitant to be vocal. I like to keep players in the game so everyone is constantly communicating with each other and moving around.

-First one to practice and the last one to leave the field.

-Free kick and set-piece specialist.

-I am confident in my footwork, speed and passing.

Thank you
