My name is Paul Anthony Ward, I live in Holualoa, Hawaii. I am a class of 2016 graduate at Konawaena High School. I've been playing baseball ever since I was 8 years old and I've dreamed of playing baseball at a college level. My main positions are 1st base and third base. As a student athlete I'm 100% committed to my education, sports, and other school activities. I always make sure that my family comes first before school and sports because I know without them I wouldn't be where I am now. During every practice I always put out 110% to my coaches and to the other players and I always come to practice with the passion to learn more. Coaches are able to recognize the passion I've had for the game and know that I'm very open minded towards new information. What makes me different from other athletes is that I incorporate my outside activities into sports. What I mean by that is I use leadership skills that I've learned from my outside activities (Ex. Rotary Club and Civil Air Patrol) to help me become a much stronger candidate for the team. Even though currently, I'm not a starter on the varsity baseball team, the coaches recognize the leadership capabilities that I have and know that I'm trustworthy. I set positive examples to my teammates and to upcoming players. Ever since I was a little kid, baseball has been my inspiration to keep pushing to achieve my goals in life. Over time I've become a much stronger student athlete and baseball has given me that inspiration to work hard to achieve my goals.
