The reasons I was voted by my team mates as the junior varsity most valuable soccer player my sophomore year are the same reasons that will make me an asset to a college team. The head coach in his remarks when he handed me the award said he thought the team gave me this honor because, "He is a versatile player who played his normal position but I also put him in three other positions during the course of the season. He is the type of player that does whatever I ask for the good of the team without question, is a hard worker, a leader and well liked by everyone."
My mom says I have been kicking a ball around since I could walk. I started rec soccer at 4 and travel soccer at age 7. Soccer is a constant in my life and there literally isn't a month I don't play soccer. My high school team practices indoor in the winter and three days a week all summer and then six days a week in season. As soon as the fall high school season ends we begin indoor high school league that lasts until March. I play travel with Bradley University's Central Illinois Soccer Academy we begin practice in January and our tournament season is March through May. I share my love of soccer with the underprivileged first and second graders I tutor at Common Place by teaching them the game when time permits and by volunteering at FC Peoria non-profit club I played at from age 4 to 14 when I aged out of the program.
Besides soccer my other strength is academics. My high school is ranked top 20 academically in my state and I am currently number one out 320 in my class. My composite ACT is 35. I am looking for a school where I can combine my love of learning and soccer. I want to be a math major while taking the right coursed to get me into medical school to become a pediatrician.
