My name is Robert Erickson and my goal is to consistently provide exceptional skills and maximum effort to earn a starting position on an excellent and competitive college soccer team.
I began playing soccer within the Lombard Park District youth leagues when I was 6 years old and have loved the sport ever since. Over the years I have participated in 2 traveling club teams: Lombard Firebirds and Chicago Magic PSG. This spring 2018, I am playing with the Lombard Firebirds club, and in the fall season as a Junior, will play on the Glenbard East High School varsity team.
I am a versatile soccer player. After most of my younger years competing in offensive field positions, a few years ago I decided to try playing defensive positions and have come to love playing defense. My experience playing both offensive and defensive positions allows me to naturally know where to be on the field at all times.
I’m committed to the hard work and dedication needed to achieve both my soccer and academic goals. To play club soccer at a high level I train on a daily basis. My training schedule includes both weightlifting and a focus on maximizing soccer skills during our Firebirds club training sessions. Academically, I have challenged myself with taking multiple “advanced placement” high school courses. Last semester I was able to achieve a 4.1 GPA.
Joining a motivated and competitive college soccer team would be a “dream come true” for me.
