My name is Danny Collins and a I am in the class of 2019 and attend Springfield High School in Springfield, Illinois. I do not play for my high school team and instead I play for the newly formed St Louis Football Club Academy. This club is a merger of the old St Louis Scott Gallagher Academies from the Illinois and Missouri sides. I was very thrilled to make this team as there were about 40 kids who tried out for 20 spots. For the previous 3 seasons I played on the Illinois Academy side. Last spring I was moved up from the 16 team to the 18 team and played the last 9 games at that level.
I am a very dedicated and hard working player. I am an offensive player who plays attacking mid or forward. I like to create and score goals. In the course of my Academy career I have about 20 goals in all competitions.
Academics is another important part of my life. My GPA is 4.95 /5. As I travel 90 minutes one way to training and/or games 5 times a week I have to utilize my time effectively. I use the travel time to do my homework and study which allows me to keep my grades up.
Going forward I want to find a college that will allow me to continue to grow as a person and where I can play soccer and get a quality college degree.
