Aidan McConnell '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Aidan McConnell and I will be a member of the New Trier High School graduating class of 2026.  I am a passionate student/athlete and I aspire to continue both my academic and soccer career at the college level.  

I have a high soccer IQ, am focused on effective positioning, and am someone who is able to effectively anticipate plays throughout a game.  As a player I work to make my teammates better by helping them be in the right position at the right time, controlling the ball in the midfield, and making plays and runs into space to open the field for attack.  My skillset allows me to play on the wing, as a forward, or as either an attacking or central midfielder and this flexibility is highly valuable to both my high school and club teams.  Lastly, I bring high energy to the field, encouraging my teammates in training and during games.

I really enjoy the game of soccer and that translates into a daily routine of strength and conditioning, footwork and agility, and/or ball skills, whether this is part of team training or working on my own.  I consistently ask for feedback to better understand how I can improve so I work on the right skills to make myself a better player.

I am excited about the opportunity to prepare for and achieve my goal of playing college soccer.  I look forward to connecting to coaches at future College ID Camps and College Showcase Tournaments or via this portal to have productive discussions throughout the recruitment process.
