Personal Statement
My favorite soccer career moment has been winning the sectional championship, defeating the top ranked team in the state in the regional semi-final and then losing to the defending and eventual state championship. Celebrating with the team and raising the sectional trophy was a very exciting moment. Continuing on the following week was a stiff challenge that battled and defeated the number one team in the state. Although we lost in the final of the regional, I felt we competed at the highest level and did all that we could. I believe these experience show the type of player I am: team player, leader, and goal setter.
Playing at both the high school and club levels allowed me to be exposed to styles of play and to development my game. For the high school team I play a variety of positions and require my leadership and encouragement. At the club level I have a more defined roll that allows me to fine tool my what I do at a specific position. The exposure to a variety of coaches has also helped me grow as a player and a person from their mentorship.
I want to be part of a program that is goal and team oriented. I love competing and the comaraderie of the team. That allows me to pursue a degree in (sports) marketing or management. I have been selected as an all-conference player (which I am very proud of), but my favorite award is the mental attitude. I believe this shows the fortitude as a team player.
