My dad was a soccer player, so he introduced me to the game since I was 4, playing in a recreational soccer league. At 7, I began playing travel soccer and I have been playing ever since for travel clubs and school teams. The game is important to me because it makes me feel happy. I spend a lot of time watching games and discussing about players and teams of the past and present with my dad and friends. Soccer just comes natural to me. My key skills are my passing and my speed and stamina. I am a 400m and 800m track and field runner. I read the game well and on the field I am outspoken, telling my teammates where to play the ball and alerting them to openings I see in the opposite defense. I do my best to encourage and not criticize my teammates.
I thank my parents for supporting me and pushing me to excel in the classroom. At school I am usually on the honor roll. At this point I am not quite sure of what I want to do. I am undecided about a career in the medical field or law or business fields. For now I just want to do well in all the classes I am taking and focus on the SAT and ACT.
In addition of soccer, I am interested in track and field and basketball. I love video games and music and used to be in the school marching band. I also spend many hours volunteering in the community. I have done a lot of travelling out of the country and love it. Every other year I try to travel to Kenya, where my mother is from and spend time connecting with family and helping people.
I want to get a scholarship to play soccer for a division one school. I am open for any opportunity with a good school where I can get a solid education. Some of my favorites would be Notre Dame , Stanford, IU, North Carolina, but I am open to any good schools in the country. I would not mind a good school in the Midwest so that my folks can come to my games (Butler, Xavier, Akron, Louisville, Big Ten schools, etc.) but as I said I don't mind going anywhere. I am easy going and get along well with people, so I can easily adapt to an urban school or a college town.
