Personal Statement
I am passionate about my academics! I never received less than an A in my academic career until high school and even then, it counted as an A because it was an honors weighted/ dual credit AP course. I take every honors, AP, dual credit course that my schedule allows. I currently have a 4.4/4.0. I am in the top 10% of my class and scored in the top 10% of the school on the PSAT. I got a 1240 on the SAT on my first try. I even doubled up in honors math as a sophomore and senior. Math is definitely my strength and what I plan to major in; I am thinking about Accounting, Statistics, or Sports Management or ideally a combination. I have taken two foreign languages; I also tested out of Spanish I and when I finished Honors dual credit Spanish III last year, I moved on to Honors Greek I and II. My greatest scholarly achievement was competing in the Scripps National Spelling Bee where I spelled both of my words correctly on ESPN; getting to that level was my goal since grade school.
Playing soccer is my happy place and I dream of the next level! I was recruited for Jr. Irish SC when I was 7 where I led the team in goals year after year and was even recognized regionally; the majority of us moved to a different club together a few years ago. Since joining Echo Premier, I have been captain, led the team in goals and assists, and we won state in 2021. I made the Indy Premier Elite I team last year as well as their EA team, replacing the graduating Mr. Soccer Indiana. We traveled to Florida in December 2021, and in 2022 to Arizona in April. I led my Indy Premier club and EA teams in goals and was second in assists. When I entered middle school, I was not only the sole fifth grader to make the varsity but I also was the only player to score in every city championship; I was also captain as an upperclassman. I have led my high school varsity team all four years in goals, game-winning goals, and points; I even led in assists the past two years. I was voted Regional All-American, 1st Team All-State, Northern Indiana Conference MVP, and Team MVP this year and led my team to the state finals where I scored first, but we lost in overtime 1-2. I scored in every post-season game this year with 11 goals including 3 headers, 5 game-winning goals, and 2 lone goals. I was speaking captain as a senior. I hold the record for career goals with 67 in 67 games. I am second for single-season record with 29 goals; I also had 16 assists my senior year which is a school record. I was also close to winning Mr. Soccer Indiana; the goalie who won, we knocked out at semi-state and I scored against him and beat his team 3 out of the 4 times I faced him, while assisting the time we lost. I earned 2nd team all-state last year as well as 1st team all-district. I played in the all-state games the last two years; I scored the first goal of the day last year and my team was the only one who went undefeated. I also received Academic All-State junior and senior years as well as Conference All-Academic this year. I earned 1st team all-conference the past three years and 2nd team all-district my sophomore year. I was the only junior captain of my team last year, was chosen to represent my school as a Northern Indiana conference leader as a junior, and was Spirit Night Sports Captain for two years. I have been on the South Bend Lions since freshman year and a part of the Area's All-Star team.
I am very proud of my leadership roles and contributing to my school’s community and spirit! I have been a school ambassador all four years and I was chosen as a City Youth Leader my sophomore year. I have been chosen for the National Honor Society last year and Student Council all four years; I was chosen for Homecoming Court three years. I joined the Euchre Club last year and I joined the Quiz Bowl this year (and am known as the sports ringer at matches). I was in the Spanish Club for two years and am in the Greek Club now where I designed the t-shirt last year. In my free time, I love to play and watch sports; my family and friends like to test my sports knowledge because I am very good at trivia. I was the captain of the freshman and JV (and middle school) basketball teams; I practiced with the Varsity as a sophomore. Because of the rigor of my new travel soccer teams, I cannot play basketball anymore; however, the team and coaches have asked me to still sit with the team during games and help out when I can; they even let me help cut down the net when we won sectionals since they appreciated my contributions to the team. Because of spring travel soccer, I gave up baseball when I entered high school after a very successful career of winning the World Series as well as being the runners-up previously; I was the captain as well as led the teams in most of the stats.
