Luke Monaghan '20 Recruiting Profile

I am very keen on attending college in the United States. I wish to further my academic education and soccer career to a very high level. I have worked very hard to get to the level I am currently at in the Salford City FC academy in the UK. I had more than one offer and I chose this academy as it had fantastic work ethics and was a rising club in the UK league system. 

I am and always have been a very well liked and popular member of every team I have been a part of. I have been made captain on occasions for every team I have ever played for and am a natural leader through my abilities and personality.  I have a very stable background and am grounded. Physically I am very strong, quick and work very hard outside of the training regime we have at Salford. I go to the gym an additional 3-5 times a week in order to increase my strength and conditioning and I work on areas I know I need to improve upon away from the clubs official training sessions. 

I enjoy playing at a high level. I enjoy competing against teams and players that challenge me . I have improved over the past few years by playing up a level on a regular basis. For example, in my first 6 months at Salford City I was chosen to play on a tour with the Under 21 team to Brighton to play against adult teams from a very high level and standard. I found this difficult but leant a lot. 

My goal is to have a career in soccer. I appreciate this is a very competitive environment so I also wish to continue my education to a very high level to keep as many options as possible open to me.
