My name is Declan Nabhan-Warren and the meaning of my name in Gaelic is "full of goodness." It is a distinctive name and I believe that I am a distinctive person. What makes me stand out from the crowd? While there are a lot of talented soccer players out there, what makes me stand out is my commitment to the game, my strong work ethic, and my team-orientation. I am a longtime student of the game and am always strategizing how I can improve my play because I know that it will benefit my team. For me, there truly is no "I" in Team. I am truly a good guy who makes people around me better.
I have been playing soccer since I was five years old and I have loved the game pretty much my entire life. I have a strong work ethic off the field and on the field. I work hard at school and excel in the classroom because I know that the better my grades are the better my chances are of playing soccer at a good college or university. I am true team player. I am a well-liked and respected teammate because my teammates know I have their backs off and on the field. I am always strategizing on the field and can see the big picture of the game. I am also very coachable. I respect my coaches and listen to they coaching advice. I know that my play---and the teams' play--- improves when I take my coaches' advice.
My goal is to be a student-athlete at a college or university starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. Ideally, I want to work with coaches who see me as a whole person and who will help me become a better soccer player as well as a person who can make important contributions to our society.
