M name is Omar Khan. I will graduate in 2027. My first two years was playing varsity high school soccer as a freshman and sophomore. I also played with Sporting Iowa ECNL. My next two years I will be playing with Rockford Raptors ECNL. Due to scheduling conflicts I will not be able to continue with high school soccer but I am exited to play with a top 15 ECNL national team.
I currently maintain a 3.5 GPA with honors and advanced placement classes at a top 5 ranked high school for academics in Iowa.
As an athlete I have played in leagues including ECRL, MLS Next and ECNL. I have also played with a high school varsity team as a freshman and sophomore that has made it to the state semifinal and state quarterfinal consecutively. I will now be playing with an ECNL team as a Junior that has ranked in the top fifteen in the nation.
I love soccer and I love playing in high profile soccer games. However, it’s the training I value most. I have trained with strength coaches, speed and agility coaches, and futsal coaches in addition to my soccer coaches to continue on my development journey. A journey I hope never ends.
As a player, I am very passionate about what I do. Whether I am by myself training, with my friends playing pick up, or playing in a stadium in front of scouts, i am always determined to play as if it’s my last time touching the ball, bringing out the best version of myself onto the pitch. I thrive to not only win individually, but to win with my teammates who share the same field I play on. I encourage, I build, and I motivate the people around me. As a player, one of my biggest goals is for the players, coaches, scouts, and for the people around me to see how much this sport means to me, how I base my choices off this sport, how I base my friends off this sport, how I base my meals off this sport, how I base my health off this sport, and how I truly revolve my life around soccer, all through not only what I speak and say, but through my actions and performances on and off the field.
As a person, I am certain people will describe me as hardworking and confident. I work different jobs with completely different skills and roles, yet I still drive to be the best employee there. In school, I always thrive to be the smartest in the class, and although I may not always be, I am confident and determined to keep developing and learning about new things. I never shy away from talking and socializing with new people, despite age, gender, or appearance, I love learning new things about people’s backgrounds and overall just creating bonds outside of the pitch. I value my loving family, trust worthy relationships, caring friends, and most of all creating the best version of my self for not only myself and the people I care for, but for God who gifted me everything I have.
I love soccer, I view it beyond just a simple sport, I see it as a life one can choose, and I’ve chosen that life since I was a baby. Soccer guides me, motivates me, breaks me, hurts me, builds me, heals me, and overall completes me. Life’s future is and never will be known, including mine, but as of now, the present, I will continue to do everything I can until I can say I’ve turned my dreams of becoming a professional soccer player into a reality. With that, remember the name, Omar Khan.
