Hello coaches, my name is Max Shea. First off, I would like to say that academics are extremely important to me. It's not just something I say, I back it up with my 3.7 grade point average. From the moment I wake up until the end of each day, I strive to do what it takes on and off the field to become a successful student athlete at a collegiate level. I am looking to not only play soccer in college but to also graduate from college with a degree in sports medicine or similar field. I want to work with sports teams as a trainer or physical therapist. I want more than anything to make this dream my reality. That is why almost every day includes, schoolwork, weight lifting, eating right, and field training with my club or on my own.
I play soccer for Wichita Rush 03 as a striker and attacking midfielder. We are playing in the MRL Premier Division 1 this year. We have also accepted our invitation to the Dallas Cup and will be playing there in April. WE also will be playing in the Kansas State Cup this year. In December 2017 we won our Region in Super Y league and went to Florida to play in the Super Y National Finals. I was the leading scorer in our Super Y League and in the Regional playoffs. Because of this, I received a letter from Super Y who identified and placed me on their Top Prospect List. I also play for my High School team Maize High School. I started and lettered on varsity as a freshman. My sophomore year I was the leading scorer on the team. I was voted Offensive MVP on the team and received honorable mentions both years.
I would like to play in and attend a Division 1 or 2 college. Location is not as important as the caliber of academics and soccer program the school has to offer. I am trying hard to earn a scholarship both academically and through soccer.
I am excited to talk with you and see if your school is the right fit for both of us! Sincerely, Max Shea
