Hi, My name is Mbukani Luundo. I am from the Democratic Republic of the Congo; I am currently attending Lafayette High School. I live with both parents, mom and dad and my siblings. I am 17 years of age, born on 12/31/2006. I start playing soccer a couple of years back. I was just playing for fun with my friends and just enjoying the beauty of the game. It wasn’t until I got in high school during my freshman year I started taking football seriously. Soccer, also known as football in many countries, has been a huge part of my life. Football has had a profound impact on my life in ways that words can hardly encapsulate. From my young age I remember kicking a ball around with friends to the intense matches played competitively, soccer has been a constant companion, teacher, guidance, and source of joy throughout my life. One of the most significant impacts soccer has had on my life is the lessons it has taught me about teamwork, action taking, discipline, and perseverance. Playing on a team requires cooperation, communication, and trust in one another's abilities. I have learned many things throughout this journey. I have spent countless hours training on my skills and developing my abilities to be on the files and I have played in many matches to get a better understanding of the game, I have learned the value of working together towards a common goal, even in the face of challenges and setbacks. I have disciplined myself to consistently show up for practices, push through fatigue, and strive for improvement has instilled in me a strong work ethic that extends beyond the soccer field. Moreover, soccer has been a source of physical and mental well-being for me. The excitement of sliding and blocking your opponents, scoring a goal, the close match, and the camaraderie shared with teammates have brought me immense joy and a sense of fulfillment. The physical demands of soccer have kept me active, fit, and healthy, while the mental aspect of strategizing, adapting to different game situations, and staying focused has sharpened my mind and decision-making abilities. Beyond my personal growth and enjoyment, soccer has also provided me with a sense of community and belonging. Having some there next to you. Whether cheering for my favorite team with fellow fans, bonding with teammates over shared victories and defeats, or connecting with people from diverse backgrounds through the universal language of soccer. The sport has brought me closer to others in ways that transcend differences and foster unity. Soccer has left an indelible mark on my life, shaping me into the person I am today. Its lessons on teamwork, discipline, and perseverance have guided me in various aspects of my life, while the joy, health benefits, and sense of community it has brought have enriched my experiences and relationships. As I continue on my journey, I carry with me the values and memories that soccer has imparted, grateful for the profound impact soccer has made in my life.
Sincerely,
Mbukani Luundo
