Personal Statement
I have been an athlete all my life and love the feel of being on the field and a part of a team. It has always been a big part of my life.
I played football from preschool all the way through freshman year at Apollo High school. I was plugged into many positions such as wide receiver, running back, and tight end over the years and even made the all-stars in my region on several occasions. I was given the nickname “Money Hands” by one team of coaches due to my ability to catch anything thrown downfield.
As I was practicing freshman year, I took an incredibly hard hit at a bad angle, and later found that I had a concussion. After healing up, I was still getting headaches regularly, and a neurologist suggested I no longer play football for my own well-being. I am 100% healthy now and have no issues from the incident.
The following spring, the soccer team, knowing I was an accomplished athlete and that I had good measurables, asked me to try out for the keeper position. I was hesitant as I didn’t know much about the game, but I have fallen in love with the sport and have been working hard year-round to improve.
I am intending to get a degree in physical therapy while at school, but I would also be so excited to be able to play for a team in college.
