Personal Statement
I have played the game for as long as I can remember. For many years, it was just a game until I was about eleven years old. I had been playing on the local travel team in Houma, but I did not feel that I was being challenged and on the right path to achieve my goals. I decided to try out for the Louisiana Fire located in New Orleans so I could improve myself as a player. It is a big commitment since practice is an hour away from my house. I am now playing my fourth year at the club and I got more out of it than I thought I would. Not only did this experience better me as a player, but it bettered me as a person and a student.
Throughout the four years I have played soccer in New Orleans, I have maintained a 3.9 or higher GPA. I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. While having plenty of success in the classroom, I have also had many athletic accomplishments. My club team and I have won a state championship and various tournaments, have been to regional tournament in Arkansas, and have been successful in GSPL, RPL, and league play. I also was invited to play on the Chicago Fire Elite team. I had an amazing experience while playing in Disney with the Elite team. The main reasons I aspire to play soccer on the college level is I love playing the game, I have made strong friendships with my teammates, and I enjoy being part of a team.
I would describe myself as a speedy, versatile player who can create chances with dribbling, passing, and positioning. My strengths are my quick touches, precise passes, and a great first touch. I am also continuing to grow as a player in all aspects of my game.
