Watching the World Cup with my dad was how I fell in love with soccer. I still remember the atmosphere in our living room after Mbappe’s hat-trick in the final. That experience made me realize that soccer isn’t only a game, it’s also a mix of passion, strategy, leadership and teamwork. As I began playing, I noticed that my natural spatial awareness and game vision were suited for the midfield role. However, stepping into that position came with challenges that shaped my character. I had to overcome obstacles, such as competing against more experienced players for a spot. Through practice and studying every game, I improved my technical dribbling and quick decision-making skills. I earned my spot as a starter and eventually became the captain of my high-school team, where I play as an attacking midfielder and consistently set up scoring opportunities leading my team on assists. These experiences have honed my athletic ability and taught me lessons that I apply in every aspect of my life.
Off the field, my parents always pushed me to do well in the classroom, and I worked hard to meet that standard. I plan to pursue electrical engineering in college. Balancing my academics with soccer also led me to becoming a section leader in my highschool band (while playing the alto saxophone) a position that I use to help mentor younger players and help organize rehearsals and events while developing my leadership skills. I’m confident that with my determination, I could be a valuable asset to your team, and look forward to bringing the same passion and discipline to college, both on the field and in the classroom.
