Julian Mendez '23 Recruiting Profile

My major goal  is to play for a D1 school and be a big impact for that team. The main reason I want to play college ball is to make fulfill my dads dream to play pro. He was one of the best college players during his time and was invited to play in Colorado for college. Unfortunately he couldn’t go to Colorado due to me and my brother being born. I want to play college ball so I can make his dream come true.  What makes me a good candidate is whatever team or college I go to I’m going to give the team 200%. Practice, Scrimmage, Games, I’m going to give it everything I got. I may not be the fastest, the most technical, or even the smartest, but I’m not letting anything pass me. If it does happen that’s the only time it will happen . My dad always tells me this motto and I live by it. He told me, “ Either the ball or the man passes you, but never both.” That’s been my favorite quote ever since I was a little kid. Also I have two different personalities on and off the field. On the field I’m focused, competitive, intense, and even aggressive. Also I really hate losing, even if it’s a video game, I hate losing a lot.  Sometimes after games that we lost, I go home and don’t even speak to anyone because I’m mad that we lost. Off the field I’m goofy, idiotic, laid back, and friendly.  So if there is any college coaches  looking at my profile, please read my personal statement.
