Gustavo Moraes '23 Recruiting Profile

Since childhood, we are inserted into a pre-classified life plan as 'the right thing to do' and that anything that differs from this standard results in failure. Thinking about it, I always believed the opposite and because of that I, since middle school, chose what I wanted to do differently from my friends, colleagues and children my age.

My name is Gustavo, Brazil is my hometown and I am 18 years old. I just had the amazing opportunity of being an American student and resident for a full year. It was the realization of a dream to be able to study in a first world country and get to know all its culture and social aspects of a nation that influences the whole world. Now, more than ever, I can tell that all the experiences I have been through just clarify how much more I have to discover and learn, increasingly motivating me to continue my journey here. 

Knowing that is a hard and huge decision to make, during my life I have fallen in love with the process of being out of my comfort zone, facing challenges and having to figure out the best way to deal with it. It is unbelievable how much development you can earn from it and how much you can enhance your understanding in general. In my opinion, the power of sharing knowledge is exceedingly significant, such as how an environment influences the individual and vice versa, in order to have a mutual growth. Furthermore, I can’t wait to go through this whole new phase, build new relationships and be part of the team, that for the next years of my life I want to consider as my family.
