Personal Statement
I have been at Brimmer and May School for 13 years, and other than my parents, Brimmer has been the greatest influence on who I am as a person and a player. Brimmer is an academically-challenging and community-oriented school where we are all working together to become our best selves. We watch out for each other and learn from each other, all the while improving ourselves. The same thing happens on the soccer field. I am focused on using my versatility, my field vision, and my work rate to move the team forward. In practice and games, I think about meeting teammates where they are at and encouraging them to put in the work to move even further, much like my role heading up the Peer Tutoring Program in the classroom. Brimmer’s emphasis on responsibility to the community has led me to focus not just on my classes or my team but on the younger players I have coached in Gator Goals Camp and Lower School PE. They often watch my games, and I realize that they see not just the finesse goals and strong tackles, but also my conduct on the field. I hope I am passing along to them good team values and strong sense of sportsmanship and responsibility.
With soccer, and with life in general, I am always thinking about what comes next and where it brings me. College soccer is my next goal, and I want to play for a school where I can get an excellent education as well as be part of a soccer program where hard work and team commitment are key values. I will continue to excel in the classroom, work hard on the field, and push myself in my own training in hopes of taking my game to the college level.
