Throughout my whole life, I have been very active playing and trying different sports like basketball, baseball, hockey, etc., but the one sport that impacted me the most was soccer. Being a part of a military family and my dad not always being around, I've always used soccer to help ground me. My dad was deployed to Iraq in 2010 for a year, I was only six years old, and I had a little sister who was 4. This was a lot for my mom to handle, so I had to grow up quickly and help with my sister and things around the house. I believe that a large chunk of the game is a mental aspect, and this experience with my family has helped me become more mature on and off the soccer field, which helped me become a leader on my team and in my community.
My parents are my biggest fans, but they are also hard on me when they know I can be better. Throughout my life, they have taught me valuable lessons about hard work and perseverance. I'm dedicated to the game of soccer because I love the game, and I feel that I have so much more to prove. Effort is my number one virtue. I know that if I leave it all out on the field or in the classroom, I'm going to get better, and that's what I strive for.
