My name is Ryan Ledoux and I am 17 years old and the youngest of 3 in my family. I have an older sister Emily who is 23 and a recent college athlete graduate and an older brother Colin who is 19 and has an intellectual disability and lives at a residential school on Cape Cod Massachusetts.
I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. I started out playing at the recreational level, moving up to Town, then Town Travel, Indoor and then at the Club level, in addition to playing Futsal, Indoor during off season and attending summer camps. I recently had the opportunity to travel to England with my club team and train with some of the top futbal coaches and compete against English teams which was an amazing learning experience. In the past 8 years playing soccer, I have learned so much about the sport and myself and continue to grow as an individual and as an athlete both on and off the field.
I am a right defensive back whose role on the team is to disrupt the opposing team's attacks and connect my teammates by passing. My 2022 club coach tells me that I am his utility player, as I am knowledgeable about all positions on the field and he often plays me in other positions because he has confidence in my abilities.
I am a strong student academically and challenge myself to achieve more as a student by taking honors and college prep classes.
I really enjoy playing on my High School team where I was Team Captain this past fall and was a starting player and play as an right defensive back with occasionally playing as a forward.
Outside of school and soccer, I have a passion for racing cars. Since a young age, I have spent a lot of time on a simulator learning different race tracks both in the USA and Internationally and have become quite competitive. My family and I belong to a race track in New York where I am able to join them in their racing efforts and learn racing safety and techniques on a 4 mile track behind the wheel of a Spec Miata race car. I recently completed a racing school along with three successful races allowing my to obtain my racing license. I most recently did a 6 hour endurance race at Sebring International Raceway where I got the track record for the fastest lap time in my car class.
As I start to think about colleges I am interested in, I am looking for a balance between strong academics and a competitive athletic program and am interested in both mechanical engineering and business entrepreneurship.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.
