Personal Statement
Going into high school lacrosse as a freshmen, I was put on the varsity team as the back up goalie. I also played starting goalie for our JV team and was named Most Valuable Player by the coaches for the season. This was one of the greatest opportunities I have been given as an athlete. Playing and practicing with older more experienced lacrosse players helped me grow both athletically and academically. Through this sport, I have learned that communication is key on and off the field, especially as a goalie. Being a year round athlete has really helped me stay organized academically because I know that I have a busy schedule and have to get things done. I strive to keep good grades and will do so as I continue into college.
All of these events have taught me so much about sportsmanship, time-management, and that there is no I in team. I also think that my many years of doing gymnastics has also helped me learn so much about the importance of confidence and how you can never give up no matter what. I really look forward to continue playing club lacrosse for Central Lax throughout the summer and fall, which has also really helped me get better as a player. I am really excited to continue this journey by playing college lacrosse and believe that I possess the right skills and talent to do so.
