Brian Tannian '18 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coach,

I feel like a would be a good fit on any team due to my versatility on the field. I can play in the middle of the field or on the outside whether it be defense or midfield. Also, there is nothing in the entire world that I am more passionate about then soccer.  For example,  two years ago, my friends and I even shoveled off a foot of snow from the field just so we could train and get a few touches on the ball. Academically, I am very focused on my grades and try to maintain high grades while also taking a challenging course load, as you can see in my transcripts.

Soccer is a major part of my life but I also like to volunteer and work in my free time. I currently hold a position as a cashier at Papa Gino's. When I am not working, studying or playing soccer I am volunteering for an organization called the Mission of Deeds. At the Mission of Deeds I help families that are struggling financially, to find furniture that has been donated. This is very rewarding as I am able to see people who might be having a bad day, or are just at a rough point in their life, and by helping them find new furniture and beds I can cheer them up.

Soccer is not something that originally came easy to me. When I first started playing around the age of 8, and I was bad to say the least. I specifically remember being on the lower teams but, I kept working at it. I would be out in my backyard for hours trying to master Cristiano Ronaldo's knuckle ball, or many other moves that I would replicate from Youtube. I taught myself many of the skills I still use today. Even now nothing has changed, I still go and juggle in my driveway just to get a few more touches on the ball. Currently, I am proud to say that I have worked my way up to a varsity starter and a captain for the 2017-2018. I know what it is like to work hard for something in life, and I am not afraid to work hard in the classroom or on the field at whichever University or College I attend.
