My name is Vincent Savino and I am a junior at Forest Hills Eastern High School, in Ada, Michigan. I am looking for a college with both competitive academics and athletics.
I was first introduced to soccer at the age of 5 and ever since then, I have loved every minute of it. First, it started with casual playing at the YMCA but soon I wanted to go further than that. My parents found a futsal camp through the Michigan Sports Academy (MSA) and one of the coaches noticed me and offered me a spot on an MSA soccer team. The jump from casual to club soccer was a great and exciting challenge for me and it was amazing seeing the skills of the older club players and even the skills of the players my age. I carried on playing club soccer until my freshman year of high school and now I am proud to be on the soccer team for my school.
The position I play is center or outside mid and one of my biggest advantages is my ability to see the field. I can cut off passing lanes, and predict my opponents’ next move. I go into tackles hard, and when I lose the ball, I don’t make it easy for my opposition to keep it. I am constantly on my toes and am a very fast player with long-lasting endurance, yet, I know when it is time to be patient, and not just go all in.
I am someone who will go to extra training when no one else wants to. Someone who will bring a soccer ball on vacation with me and find a field or wall to get my touches in. Someone who will train in the 90-degree humid weather even though I could just stay inside in the cool AC. I do all of these things because I love the game and I will do everything I can to get better at it and play it for as long as I can.
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
