My name is Julian “Freddy” Krueger and I am a 5’11” sophomore who plays outside midfielder for Detroit City FC. Soccer has been my sport since I was a child, I have been playing club and travel soccer for 11 years and is my passion. I play outside midfield, forward, and center defensive midfield. My strongest skills on the field are speed, strength, dribbling, and switches/crossing. One of my strongest strategies on the field is reading my opponent’s body language and anticipating their next move. My goals are to be the best player I can be and play College soccer.
I go to University of Detroit Jesuit High School, a college prep school in Detroit Michigan. The classes and schedule are tough, but I know I am getting a good education that will prepare me for college.
My parents and stepparents are extremely supportive. I have a lot of grandparents, so I usually have a lot of family members watching my games on a regular basis. Needless to say, I’ve learned to work well under pressure. Sometimes the pressure can be a lot but I have learned how to take in the feedback and react to criticism and be coachable.
Playing sports while going to school helps me stay focused. Having structure, discipline, and accountability keeps me motivated. Other sports I enjoy are golf and skiing. I accompany my dad a lot on his quest to see all the national parks in the US. We hike snowy mountains, dry badlands, and rainy forests. I also have spent a few summers in Italy with my grandparents. The adventures have all been good character and confidence builders. My hobbies include biking, working on motorbikes, and going to the gym.
Fun Fact: 5 years ago a travel coach of mine gave me the nickname “Freddy”. It’s followed me ever since.
