Finnian Mankowski '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Finn Mankowski. I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old and I love the sport. I love to have fun just playing with my friends but I also thrive while competing at a high level. I am strong with the ball at my feet, but also enjoy distributing and moving off the ball to create opportunities for my teammates during build up or to create breakouts and goal scoring opportunities. 

I have a very strong work ethic and a desire to improve. I think this makes me very coachable and I work to implement what coaches tell me into my game. As a varsity team captain, I have also been a leader in implementing game strategies and implementing in-game coaching adjustments across the pitch. I have developed a strong team leadership role on and off the field. As a three sport athlete I stay in shape all year and apply what I learn in other sports (e.g., basketball) to my play on the soccer field.

I have maintained a 3.6 GPA throughout high school and am always working to improve it.  I have coached youth soccer for our local recreational club and for the Illinois Skills School (2021-2023) which offers a week-long summer day camp locally. I also co-op in an early education program offered by our district in a pre-K classroom at Suttons Bay (2022-present). These experiences have helped open my eyes to working with kids and I am interested in pursuing a degree in elementary education at a larger school with an active campus community.
