I started playing travel soccer when I was in third grade, and my interest only grew from there. Every year that I play and grow, my love and passion for soccer increases. I've also learned a lot about myself along the way. I have learned that I am a natural leader and have been named Captain of my club team for the past 3 years. I have also learned things about the game and how important a coach is to my development. My current and former coaches have been good mentors to me. Working with them, I developed a lot of confidence in my abilities on the field and in the decisions that I make during a game. Their guidance has allowed me to grow and improve my game in every situation on and off the field.
Challenges come in many forms and I have encountered obstacles throughout my career, such as not making a first team in my early years, not being a starter or not getting as many minutes as I would have liked. Every time an obstacle of this manner was presented to me, I overcame it by doing everything in my power to learn and train as often and as hard as I could. I feel like the more I learn about the game the better I can become. If my soccer knowledge continues to improve and my passion remains strong, I know that I can overcome any challenge I face. In my opinion, a good work ethic, competitive drive, and willingness to learn, gives me the ability to take my game to the next level. I feel those are the qualities that a top level player needs to succeed.
