I attend The Blake School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Blake School is the #1 ranked college-prep (private) school in Minnesota. Blake’s extremely competitive atmosphere forces me to work hard both on and off the field. My goal is to play college soccer at a school where I can get the best student-athlete experience.Currently, as a Junior, I am maintaining a GPA of 3.5 with one AP course. This year I will be taking part in the DECA/Entrepreneurship club as a competitor in district, state, and national competitions and write articles for the student news site (The Spectrum).
In terms of soccer, I have had a ball at my feet since I was 6 years old. At a young age I tried a multitude of different sports, including: basketball, football, and baseball. However, soccer was the only one that I truly connected with. Throughout my years playing soccer I have played for various different clubs, here, in Minnesota. Currently, I play for Minnesota TwinStars Academy. The past two years my MINNESOTA TWINSTARS ACADEMY TSA18 (2000) ELITE (MN) has traveled throughout the country to participate in many of Americas top tournaments. Overall, it is easy for me to say that some of my best moments have come from playing in the these tournaments. My team and I were fortunate enough to be accepted into the ESPN Wide World of Sports Disney Showcase located in Osceola County, Florida and the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup located in Dallas, Texas. Both of these tournaments, being two of the most prestigious in America, really gave me a large platform to present my skills to an immense amount of college coaches and compete against some of the best teams in the nation. In general, I believe experiences like these will stick with me forever.
Besides club soccer, I am a 4x Minnesota ODP state team player. I believe that the Olympic Development Program has really brought out my versatility in terms of playing multiple positions and allowed me to create many great friendships with players around my state. In terms of position versatility, my primary positions are center midfield and winger. More specifically, this past June, when my Minnesota ODP team played in the St. Louis Regional Showcase, I started every game at either outside back or center back. I had never exactly played defense before but my natural versatility and soccer IQ allowed me to quickly adapt to a defense role and start every game at the showcase, leading my team to a 4-0 record and finishing off the weekend with 3 goals and 3 assists.
In the end, my day to day motivation is to play college soccer. I want to play for a school where I can get a top tier education and play for a top level team. I will continue to excel in the classroom, work hard on the field, and push my self beyond my limits during personal training in hopes to take my game to the college level. I know playing college soccer will not be easy but I am extremely motivated to make every sacrifice necessary to do so.
