Personal Statement

Hi! I'm Nikki Stabno. I am so happy you visited my profile. To tell you a little about myself, I currently attend The Blake School High School. Currently, I am admission ambassador for Blake. That means I represent the class to new, and incoming students, parents and teachers. This was a very big honor, a wonderful job for me. I also will represent the student to past alumni to show the improvements that have been made over the years. I also was chosen to be apart of Blakes' Acapella group (which is the equivalent of an honor choir). My choir tours to different states once a year to perform. I enjoy this group very much and love being apart of the supportive and constructive group.  I am also involved in another selective choir group within the school called Treble. Treble is an all-female group with around 12 girls in it. Up to 70+ girls try out for Treble each year. I love this group very much. It is a student lead group, that has had a major success for many years, and I hope to keep the tradition going on.  This year I also took part in Free The Children club, where my fellow peers and I planned charities,  fundraisers, and many other things involving community serves. Another club I took part in was Spectrum, my school newspaper. I love writing so this was very enjoyable for me. I wrote multiple articles throughout the year and plan to keep writing throughout next year. I am very busy, so I try to do as much as possible to get my self-prepared for the upcoming year. This summer I have met with all my teachers and figured out a plan for this summer to be able to go into next year as strong as possible. Although I enjoy all my clubs and class, my favorite part of the day would be at the end, sports. I currently play for Blake's Volleyball Varsity team. I love this team very much, all the girls keep a competitive yet fun atmosphere.  Volleyball is a very fun sport, but my passion lays with softball. I found my love for softball when I very little, and the love kept growing. I train throughout the winter at Hit Dawg, an indoor facility for baseball and softball players. I meet with different coaches on hitting, pitching and weight training. I love the winter because of how I am able to dissect my throw, and swing, and pitch and really understand what is happening within each motion and try to improve it. When spring comes, I am a Varsity pitcher at the Blake School. Although sometimes it can be a little tough trying to start a majority of a season games as a freshman, this is what pushes me more to get better and keep improving. I enjoy being pushed a little harder and little longer. This is a great time that pushes me mentally and physically. When that season is over, I play of the Minnesota Breakers Fastpitch club team. This team is all about growing as a player and working on ourselves along with the team. Softball is a majority of my life, which I enjoy. I keep a positive yet dedicated attitude,  want to improve myself and others around me.
