My name is Liam Linares and I am excited to begin the next chapter of my life at a welcoming school while doing the things I love. DeLaSalle has taught me many core values one of which is a strong work ethic and the ability to pour my heart into anything that I set my mind to. I am a very focused player with an internal compass that motivates myself and teammates both on and off the field. Competition is what drives me to my absolute limit. I set my emotions aside during every game and practice which makes me a very level headed player.
In 2018, I was a freshman at De La Salle High School, thrilled to tryout for the soccer team. I did not make it onto the Varsity team during my freshman year, however that only motivated me to be extra vigilant and consistent in training myself to become a better player during my freshman and sophomore year on the JV team. I made it on the Varsity team during my Junior and Senior year. I also had a positive impact on Keliix Club Soccer team. We won the MYSA league and got promoted to Premier 1. I believe I played a huge role in winning the league due to my consistent work ethic, leadership skills, and building up confidence within my self and others. Being a Student Athlete is important to me because it keeps me organized with school and soccer. Academics comes before athletics because I believe it is important to attain a good education. I value academics because it links to many positive outcomes that I value; reading, writing and public speaking.
