Kevin Artiles Fernandez '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kevin Artiles Fernandez, I was born in Havana, Cuba in 2003 and lived there for 11 years. I started playing soccer at age 5 with some friends and we would usually do 3v3s or 5v5s which helped me learn how to dribble past the rival team. When I became 11 years old, 3 days after my birthday I moved to the U.S with my father and joined a soccer academy in Florida. We won the league twice and I received Player of the Season once. At age 13 I moved with my mother to Nebraska and played with the Norfolk Express Dynamite team for one season in which we finished 2nd and 3rd in 2 out of 4 tournaments. Since then I have played with the High School team for the past 3 years even if we did not have a soccer season last year due to COVID19. I am confident that I am a good candidate and can adapt to almost any team playstyle as I know my way throughout the pitch although I am more confident in attacking. As of right now, I go to play soccer with friends at the park 3-4 times a week to stay in shape for the soccer season which will hopefully not be canceled again.
