Daniel Freitas '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my Name is Daniel Freitas, I was born in the US, but lived in Brazil for 11 years. I am Brazilian/ American and speak Portuguese, English, and I’m learning Spanish in High School. I attended the American School of Brasilia, which is an international school with students from several different countries. During my years living in Brazil, I played for two clubs. I participated in many city tournaments and played in an international tournament called Go Cup twice. I played against teams from Ecuador, Mexico, and Portugal; including Deportivo Toluca F.C., S.L. Benfica, and Brazilian Clubs academy teams. In 2016, my family and I moved back to the U.S. so that my brother and I could go to college in the U.S. We first lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, and are now living in Gretna, which is a town on the outskirts of Omaha, Nebraska.

I have gone through a lot of changes and have adapted to those changes, but one thing that will never change about me is that I always strive to do my best and exceed all expectations. A goal of mine is to be able to keep getting better as a student, athlete, and most importantly, as a person for the rest of my life. I haven't yet decided on one major, but I am interested in some types of Engineering. No matter what major I decide on, one thing I want to do is help people as much as possible. Elon Musk, one of the people I aspire to be like, once said “One should try to make the world a better place because the inverse makes no sense.”
