2019 HighlightsBeing a student athlete is an inherent part of who I am. I always strive to do my very best in both academics and athletics. Throughout my years of high school, I have spent many late nights, after long practices and meets, fighting sleep to get my homework done. Many athletes know this situation all to well, but what sets me apart is how much discretionary time I give in service to God and others . I am currently enrolled in my fourth year of early morning seminary, an early morning religious class which starts (this year) at 5:55 AM. For 3 years I left my house at 5:40 AM, in order to pick up another student who needed a ride to seminary. Twelve hours later, I arrive home from school, after cross country, swim or track practice, and then participate in weekly church youth activities and monthly ministering visits. Even with everything I choose to juggle, loving it all, I wish I could do more. I eagerly accept every opportunity to improve. I love being involved because it gives me experience, making me stronger and better everyday. That is what I really love about pushing my limits: my best just keeps getting better! I know that pushing myself to reach new heights requires a new level of effort, training and perseverance. That new level can be found at the collegiate level of sports. I would love to reach this status and see how far I can fly with it!
