James Shepard '23 Recruiting Profile

Sports have always been a big part of my life. I have a passion for all sports, but in particular for soccer. I started playing soccer with my father when I was two years old and I have played soccer in school ever since. I love to play soccer and I love to watch soccer. My favorite team to follow is Manchester United. I love the community aspect of being a part of a team. I am a people person and I love to spend time with people of all ages. Being a member of a team has afforded me the opportunity to make many meaningful relationships, both with my teammates and with my coaches. I am competitive by nature and I always set goals for myself, both academically and in competitive sports. My collegiate goals are to work hard and to play hard in soccer. I am friendly, easily approachable, and I have been told by all my coaches that I am easily coachable. I am an excellent communicator and I have good organizational and time management skills. I strive to get good grades, to be a good friend, a good teammate, and to be a leader in my community. I like to win whenever possible and I look forward to this next chapter of my life.
