Hi, I'm Josh
I love sports and I have done very well in track, basketball and soccer. By far soccer is my passion above all other sports. I feel drawn to the feel and pace of the game. That may sound corny but it’s true. To succeed in soccer, you must be a selfless team player and support one another. You also have to bring intensity and belief in your game too.
To be a good soccer player you have to be a good student. Being a good student helps me to be a good athlete. Soccer has helped me to be a good team player and work better in groups. Being a good student has helped me to build useful skills to succeed in life. I continue to learn the importance of discipline, practice, visualizing what I want and doing the work to achieve my goals. There have been times when I have not succeeded. These were good learning opportunities for me to suck it up and try until I succeeded.
My father has taught me the importance of breathing, visualizing my goals and then giving 100%. Like NIKE says, “Just do it”. I continue to improve at this.
I know many other recruits are good but I'm different because I'm working hard to be great. I am a team player who cares about my team's success. I bring and leave everything I have on the field. I do additional training at my gym and track/field helps me with endurance. I have been a starter on my Club team, NLSA three years and two years on my HS varsity team. This year, I have been named co-captain of my HS varsity team upon the recommendation by my coach and the unanimous agreement by my teammates. I think this shows my leadership ability and how much I care about my team. I also take the time to coach younger kids at the local rec club in soccer and conditioning.
I will be a great soccer player but I will get an excellent education too. I care a lot about people and soccer. My education will help me to achieve my goals and help make this world a better place for all of us.
I believe you want me, my talent, my drive and energy on your team.
Thanks for reading my letter about me.
