My name is James Fitzmaurice, and I attend Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes, NJ. I am a high academic student with a 4.35 weighted GPA, looking to play at the collegiate level with the dream of one day playing professionally.
I play in the central midfield with a high work rate and fitness level. My style is simple. I do not overcomplicate the game, as I keep possession while looking for penetrating balls forward. I am very comfortable in tight spaces. My innate vision allows me to switch the point of attack when it presents itself and play balls behind defenders.
With a deft first touch, I also pride myself in playing properly weighted balls to the correct foot and space.
Defensively, I read the game well and put myself in the proper position to understand when to delay and when to pursue a tackle. At 6'0” and growing, I am decent in the air.
My club team, Torpedoes SC, has been one of the top teams in the state of NJ for many years, competing in regional and national tournaments. Our team has won our USYS National League – Mid-Atlantic Conference two of the past three years, qualifying us for USYS Eastern Regionals four years in a row. In 2024, we won the USYS Eastern Regional, qualifying for the USYS National Championship.
Other: My father played for the University of Virginia and the North Jersey Imperials in the USISL (now the USL) in the early 90’s.
