The crowd is cheering and the coaches are yelling, but there is nothing in my head, just silence: me against the ball. The player slowly takes touches on the ball closer to me. I move towards him, take a step, and bolt for that ball. I acquire it. My hands connect to the ball like glue, and excitement rushes into my head. My ears opened like a dam, and the noise of the crowd flushes into them.
College is an extremely important goal for me in life. At fifteen, there are many things that I envision myself doing, many colleges, and locations that I envision myself at. A college is not just a place where I will go to learn, this will be a place that I will shape the rest of my life to come. I am into design, architecture, and athletics. Going to athletic activities as an alumni and visiting the campuses is a must. I would like to look at different programs that fit into these categories. Soccer is my second main reason for going to college, although it would not be the only thing that I would participate in at the school. Helping others is very important to me, and I would do that by volunteering my time to help other athletic and social programs.
Soccer is so important to my life. There is a long family history of soccer (Gene and Walt Chyzowych hall of fame players and coaches), and it definitely runs in my veins. I am very dedicated to soccer, since I never miss team training, and I train alone both on the pitch and in the gym. Personal success is key for me having myself prepared for each occasion is very important. Not only is it just me who needs to strive, but also my teammates. Being a leader is one of my most prominent traits. As a leader on my team, being there for whoever needs it the most and keeping my team running smoothly is something I take pride in. Staying that extra 15 to 20 minutes to work out some kinks, help a teammate, or talk to a coach is simply routine. My team is a family, and I would do anything for it. My position at goal is by far the best on the field, taking charge and keeping your family striving for a victory. Having big saves are addictive and give me the excitement that the sport should give to everybody. Soccer has taught me a lot, from dedication, to hard work, and the good sportsmanship required in the bitterness of a loss. I continue to learn lessons from soccer and apply them into my everyday life as a family member, player, and student.
