James Miller '19 Recruiting Profile

    I am James Miller. I am a left winger for fc copa’s black 01(NJ) team and I have played center forward for my high school team at New Providence High School in New Jersey. I am a very aggressive player who likes to take on a defender whenever possible. I like to believe that I can beat any player you put up against me. I also have a nose for goal as I lead my club team in scoring every year. I also recorded the second most goals on my high school team as a sophomore this past year with 10 goals. I am also extremely passionate about soccer but I have learned to control my passion so I don’t accumulate cards. I also am a player capable of playing all 90 and on both my club and high school teams I usually do. I stay in shape by joining the track team at my school for the winter and spring.

    In terms of academics I go to the Academy of Allied Health Sciences in Union County. This is a school that is public but one that you must apply for. They don’t have sports teams so I have to go to my home town’s district for soccer. All the classes at my school are either honors or AP level courses. I am usually an A and A- student with an occasional B+. I do very well in my math and science classes and I am currently enrolled in AP calculus AB as a sophomore. I strive for excellence in both sports and academics.

    Although committing a lot of time to soccer and school work I do have other pastimes. In the fall I participate in marching band at my school in New Providence in the same season as soccer. In fact we recently won the national championship for group 6A bands. Also, this combination of activities in the fall has helped me manage my time. Also, I am approaching my final summer at a sleep away camp I attend each year that has really helped me grow and be independent. I hope I can after this year get a job there. Outside of school and off the pitch I have participated in activities that have helped me grow as an individual
